In individual cases, it is crucial to determine where the blood clot is critical and needs to be addressed urgently as opposed to where we smile at the patient and say, "It will pass by itself." In addition, veins, unlike arteries, display quite a lot of variation from person to person. There is no concept of "normal" vein size and "hemodynamically significant stenosis.”The authors of this book once had to face all of the above challenges themselves. Unfortunately, in those days, there was no simple, well-illustrated, and concise guide for practitioners to use in their daily work. That is why we decided to write this book. However, we wrote it unconventionally for medical literature: we tried to get away from a scientific presentation, bringing the text as close as possible to the style of modern business literature. At the same time, we saturated the book with illustrations and clinical examples - sometimes tragic - allowing the reader to understand and feel what vein diseases are.
